Fail-Proof Flank Steak
Valentina P
Everyone needs a no-fail steak recipe in their cooking arsenal, and this recipe has yet to disappoint. All you'll need are a few ingredients, some time to marinate, and a hot pan or grill. For medium doneness, six minutes per side is usually perfect and juicy. Try this flank steak alongside a light & fruity salad, such as Kiwi and Strawberry Spinach Salad or Triple Green Citrus Salad.
How To MakeDiet Type: Low-carb
Shopping List
- 1 1/2 pound flank steak
- 33333333/100000000 cup olive oil
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
- 3 garlic cloves, minced (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (or paleo steak sauce)
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Whisk all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. Place the steak in a large resealable bag and pour the marinade inside, making sure all of the meat is well coated. You could also do this same process with a covered glass baking dish. Marinate the meat for 1 to 6 hours, turning the meat over halfway through to ensure it is evenly distributed.
- Step 2: Heat a large cast-iron pan or ridged grill-pan over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for approximately 5 to 7 minutes per side. 5 minutes for medium-rare, 6 minutes for medium, and 7 for medium-well.
- Step 3: Transfer the steak to a cutting board, cover it lightly with foil, and let rest for another 5 minutes. The resting time will yield a juicer steak once you cut into it.
- Serve: Slice the steak against the grain and enjoy. This is great alongside Chimichurri Sauce.
