How To MakeDiet Type: Classic
Shopping List
- 3 handfuls bread, diced into 3/4 inch cubes (such as baguette or sourdough)
- 4 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil
- 2 to 3 teaspoons taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 365 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Step 2: Toss all of the ingredients together in a mixing bowl until all of the bread pieces are coated in some of the seasoning. Spread the mixture in a single layer onto a lined baking sheet. Note: If your taco seasoning is not spicy, try adding a little cayenne pepper to the mix.
- Step 3: Bake the croutons for 10 to 12 minutes, or until crispy and golden. Flip them over halfway through the cooking time and check on them periodically to avoid burning (the type of bread used will affect the exact cooking time, so start checking on them after the first 6 minutes). Transfer to a bowl to cool.
- Serve: Enjoy. Store in an airtight container on the counter up to a few days.
