Savory Baked Tofu

- 1 (15 ounce) block extra-firm tofu
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium tamari
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Drain the tofu. Press the water out of the tofu by wrapping it in paper or clean reusable towels and setting a heavy pan on top of it. Let it press for 15 minutes.
- Step 2: Meanwhile, stir together the vinegar, tamari, olive oil, mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Step 3: Unwrap the tofu and slice it vertically and horizontally, making 4 tofu steaks per container. Marinate the tofu in the marinade sauce in the fridge at least 2 hours to overnight.
- Step 4: Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the marinated tofu in an oven-safe baking dish. Pour any residual marinade over the tofu. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Serve: Slice and enjoy.
