Red Velvet Beet Smoothie

It's called Red Velvet, but this guilt-free smoothie only features a tasty combination of good-for-you ingredients. Beet adds the vibrant color, while cacao and a hint of maple syrup provide some sweetness.

Shopping List
- 1/2 cup raw or roasted beet, peeled and diced (about .5medium-sized beet bulb)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or non-dairy)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa or raw cacao
- 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon smooth almond butter
- 1/4 cup almond milk or water
- handful of ice (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Place all ingredients in a high-powdered blender. Blend until super smooth, adding more ice for a thicker consistency and more liquid for a thinner consistency. Taste and adjust flavorings as desired.
- Serve: Pour a glass and enjoy.
