Prosciutto e Melone
Valentina P
It doesn't get any more Italian than the classic combination of fresh melon and salty prosciutto. The best cantaloupe has a robust sweet smell. Avoid sour smelling melons or ones that don't have any odor at all. Enjoy as a light appetizer.
How To MakeDiet Type: Paleo
Shopping List
- 1 ripe cantaloupe melon
- 8 to 10slices prosciutto crudo (Note 1)
- balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
- Step 1: Cut the cantaloupe in half and discard the seeds and any excess water. Slice into wedges and cut off the rind.
- Step 2: Drape the prosciutto slices over the melon, about 1 slice per wedge. Note: If serving at a party, it helps to cut the slices into bite-sized pieces and spear with a toothpick.
- Serve: Enjoy with an optional drizzle of balsamic glaze. This is best eaten immediately.
Recipe Notes
Note 1: We recommend a high-quality prosciutto, such as Parma or San Daniele.
