Authentic Greek Salad

Authentic Greek Salad (Horiatiki salad) that tastes just like the ones you can find throughout Greece. Made with cucumber, tomato, olives, green bell pepper, and plenty of feta. Easy and refreshing.

Shopping List
- 1 english cucumber
- 3 medium-sized tomatoes (Note 1)
- 1/2 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
- 16 pitted kalamata olives (adjust quantity to taste preference)
- 7 ounces feta cheese block
- 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- dried oregano, to taste
- salt, to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Peel the cucumber and cut it in half lengthwise. Slice into half-moon shapes. Chop the tomatoes into wedges. Slice the bell pepper and thinly slice the red onion.
- Step 2: Place the cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, red onion, and olives in a mixing bowl. Toss with the olive oil, vinegar, and some salt.
- Serve: Transfer the salad into a serving plate and top with a thinly sliced block of feta (or dice the feta over the top). Sprinkle with dried oregano and a little extra drizzle of olive oil for presentation. Enjoy.
Recipe Notes
Note 1: Can't do tomatoes? This is also delicious with the tomatoes omitted.
