Garlic Baked Croutons
Valentina P
Crunchy homemade croutons with savory garlic flavor. Super easy to make and perfect with Caesar Salads.
How To MakeDiet Type: Classic
Shopping List
- 3 handfuls bread, cubed (such as sourdough or baguette, Note 1)
- 4 1/2 tablespoons butter, melted (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon nutritional yeast (or 1 tablespoon grated parmesan)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or dried oregano)
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 365 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Step 2: Toss all of the ingredients together in a mixing bowl until all of the bread pieces are coated in some of the seasoning. Spread the croutons in a single layer onto a lined baking sheet.
- Step 3: Bake the croutons for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden. Flip them over halfway through the cooking time and check on them periodically to avoid burning (the type of bread used will affect the exact cooking time, so start checking on them after the first 6 minutes). Transfer to a bowl to harden and cool.
- Serve: These croutons are great on salads, especially Crouton Salad with Balsamic Dressing.
Recipe Notes
Note 1: This is also great with Fluffy Gluten-Free Cassava Bread, which takes more like 15 to 20 minutes. Brioche may also be used, but tends to cook in less time, about 5 to 10 minutes.
