Cream Cheese Frosting

Luscious cream cheese frosting that's perfect for frosting cakes and cupcakes. Recipe makes enough for 1 (2-layer) cake(s) or about 2 dozen cupcakes.

Shopping List
- 8 ounces cream cheese (dairy or non-dairy)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 8 tablespoons butter, softened (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- small pinch of salt
Instructions
- Step 1: Beat together the softened butter and cream cheese with a hand mixer or stand mixer until creamy and smooth.
- Step 2: Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Beat on medium speed until combined. Note: For a thicker, more pipe-able frosting, try adding in an extra 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
- Serve: Spread over cooled cakes and cupcakes. This is great in Hummingbird Cake or Vegan Carrot Cake Loaf.
