Chocolate Avocado Frosting

Easy Chocolate Avocado Frosting that everyone loves! Perfect for spreading over cakes or piping onto cupcakes. Recipe makes enough frosting for a 1-layer (9 inch) cake — adjust as needed.

- 2 large ripe avocados
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1/4 cup date syrup (Note 1)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
Instructions
- Step 1: Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor and blend until silky smooth and thick. Scrape the sides down as needed until no avocado pieces remain. Refrigerate the frosting to firm up more (the frosting may be made 1 to 2 days in advance).
- Serve: Spread or pipe over Almond Flour Chocolate Cake or Vanilla Cupcakes. Enjoy.
Recipe Notes
Note 1: Date syrup gives a great depth of flavor here. If you don't have any on hand, substitute with an equal amount of maple syrup.
